Juvenile Justice

Goal 1: Decrease court referrals of children with disabilities, increase awareness of the unnecessary referral of children with disabilities to thecourt system, and ensure that children’s disabilities are appropriately taken into account within that system.

Objective 1: Provide information and technical assistance to public defenders and private attorneys to help children with disabilities who are involved in the court system.

Objective 2: In selected cases, provide direct representation to children with disabilities in the court system on issues related to rights violations.
